In the copier world, there are a lot of different copier dealers near you to choose from. How do you know whether to go with the big corporation that everyone knows their name, or the local dealer down the street that has been apart of the community for a while?

Of course, when you’re looking for a multifunction printer, many places are going to offer you machines that do very similar functions. But how do you know what to look for in a coper dealer? The most important thing to be on the lookout for is a dealer that genuinely cares about you. You’ll probably forget about the great price you paid for that copier when you’re sitting around waiting for a service technician with a copier that’s down and you’re in desperate need of copier service. Choosing a local dealer, you’ll have access to live people when you call in, not an automated system that puts you in a waiting line.

Also, once you sign a copier lease agreement, with a major corporation you probably won’t see your sales rep again until it’s time to upgrade the lease (and at that point, it’s probably a different person who is not familiar with the account). With a local dealer, you will find a greater staff tenure who genuinely care about you and will be around to help you out throughout the term of your lease, whether that’s stopping by to check up or doing additional copier training whenever needed.

A major plus with local dealers too is they are usually family-owned, customer-oriented, and a relationship-driven customer service company. They are usually better about helping your business than other companies who will tell you just about anything you want to hear to get a sale.

Do your research, and don’t be afraid to ask questions. When you have a really great dealer that cares about you, that is a very satisfying and wonderful relationship that will help your business run smoothly in the years to come!
